Project description

Tormlion is a gaming and eSports startup committed to expanding Africa’s presence in the global gaming scene through talent development and job creation. I was responsible for creating dynamic visuals, motion graphics, and promotional video content that showcased Tormlion’s initiatives, training programs, and community impact—designed to captivate and inform aspiring gamers and industry stakeholders alike.


Challenge

As a new brand in a growing African gaming market, Tormlion needed strong visual storytelling to differentiate itself and connect authentically with its audience. The absence of a cohesive visual identity made it difficult to communicate the platform’s purpose and appeal to both newcomers and potential partners.

Ways of Working

I worked closely with the Tormlion team to understand their goals, target audience, and brand personality. My focus was on creating design assets and motion content that not only looked engaging but also conveyed the professional yet energetic spirit of the gaming industry. This included logo animations, event trailers, promotional reels, and social media content.


Process

The design process began with audience research and competitor analysis within the African and global gaming sectors. I then developed moodboards, storyboards, and design systems that reflected Tormlion’s core values. The visual execution spanned across video editing, animated graphics, and branded visuals for online campaigns and educational content.



Research & Planning

Contributed to the early visual research by identifying how other global eSports brands build audience trust. Applied these insights to plan a visual strategy tailored to the African gaming audience—emphasizing community, learning, and opportunity.

Design & Implementation

Created a visually cohesive design language across static and motion formats. Designed interactive banners, animated overlays, training content visuals, and social content that reflected Tormlion’s gaming roots and educational mission.



Development & Implementation

Produced explainer videos, program launch trailers, and animated branding content for use across social media, training platforms, and investor pitches. Prioritized high-energy, youth-focused visuals that resonated with gamers, streamers, and aspiring professionals.


Solution

Through bold visuals and cinematic motion content, I helped bring Tormlion’s mission to life—transforming abstract ideas into relatable, aspirational visuals. The final output positioned Tormlion as a serious, forward-thinking force in Africa’s gaming industry, helping attract talent, trainees, and industry partners.
